María Teresa Martín Aragoneses

PhD in Psychology (Neuroscience program), Master’s Degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology and Bachelor in Psychopedagogy from the Complutense University at Madrid (UCM). Currently she is an associate professor at the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education II of the National Distance Education University (UNED). Her main research interests focus on the study of executive function and language, particularly reading comprehension, with special emphasis on understanding the link between them and their role in the learning, in order to know how to create opportunities to optimize cognitive functioning, and thus the well-being, of the person over the life course and in different health conditions. Her research activity includes experimental studies, development and validation of measures, design, assessment and application of intervention programs, and professional training and evidence-based practice. She has participated in several research projects on healthy and pathological aging as member of the scientific team (PSI2012-38375-C03-03, PSI2015-68793-C3-3-R, RTI2018-098762-A-C32), and she is co-author of several publications arising from these investigations. She collaborates as a scientific reviewer with national and international journals, and as member of several scientific societies in her field of expertise. From 2014 to 2018 she was the vice-president of the Spanish Association of Logopedics, Phoniatrics, and Audiology, and Iberoamerican Association of Phonoaudiology (AELFA-IF). She has also held university management positions as deputy academic secretary (2012-2019) and academic secretary (2019-2020) of the faculty of Education (UNED). Since 2020 she holds the position of academic secretary of Joint Institute for Research – National School of Heath (IMIENS-UNED).
