PhD in Psychology, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). Master in Cognitive Neuropsychology, UCM. Expert in Advanced Methods of Applied Statistics, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Graduate in Psychology, UCM. Currently, he is Head of the Area of Neuropsychology at the Fundación Centro de Investigación de Enfermedades Neurológicas (Fundación CIEN), where he coordinates and participates as a member of the scientific team of the Vallecas Project for the early detection of Alzheimer's disease, a longitudinal study to detect potential early markers of the disease. Moreover, he is PI of two research projects: (1) PROGRAMA DE INVESTIGACIÓN EN LONGEVIDAD ESPAÑA-PORTUGAL +90 (PILEP+90), an European coordinated project funded by the Fundación General de la Universidad de Salamanca, focused on deciphering the characteristics of healthy aging and longevity through the use of machine learning techniques; (2) ANTECEDENTES FAMILIARES DE ENFERMEDAD DE ALZHEIMER EN PERSONAS MAYORES: INFLUENCIA DEL DETERIORO COGNITIVO SUBJETIVO (RTI2018-098762-A-C32), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, to improve the understanding and very early detection and prevention of cognitive impairment and dementia. Previously, he has participated in several research projects as a member of the scientific team and has enjoyed various research training grants at the Centre for the Prevention of Cognitive Impairment, part of the Madrid Salud Autonomous Agency, Madrid City Council, as well as at the Centre for Educational Research and Documentation (CIDE) of the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC). He has also a clinical background as a neuropsychologist with more than 10,000 hours of health practice in the evaluation, diagnosis and neuropsychological intervention of patients throughout his professional career. Currently, he combines his research activity at Fundación CIEN with his clinical work as a Neuropsychologist in the Cognitive Impairment Unit of the Hospital Universitario Sanitas La Moraleja. He is the author of over 30 scientific publications, mostly in Q1 peer-reviewed journals, as well as more than 80 contributions to national and international congresses. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Neurology, reviewer in several international journals such as Journal of Alzheimer ́s Disease or Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience. In 2015 he received the award for Best Poster presented at the LXVII Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN) among the almost 1,000 papers presented at the conference. He also participates as a member of the State Dementia Group for the elaboration of the National Alzheimer's Plan. With regard to the training of other professionals, he is Professor of the Master's Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and the Master's Degree in Aging and Dementias at the Instituto Superior de Estudios Psicológicos (ISEP). In addition, he is a Collaborating Tutor of Teaching Practice for final year students of the Degree in Psychology for the Department of Experimental Psychology (UCM). Finally, he teaches regularly in courses and seminars of continuous training for health professionals throughout Spain.
