Marta Rodríguez Pérez

Speech therapist specialized in evaluation, diagnosis and intervention of language and communication in children and adults with acquired brain damage and dementias. She made a stay in Brighton (London) obtaining the Intermediate English accredited by the British Council and presents the ISE I Certificate by Trinity College London. She has professional experience as a speech therapist in different entities, both public and private, attending to people with communication and language problems, currently working as a speech therapist in the Clinical Speech Therapy Unit of the Complutense University of Madrid. Along with this, she presents research experience in the line of cognitive and experimental neuroscience through the analysis of language and communication in people with acquired brain damage. In this sense, he has carried out projects such as "Aphasias: Anomia from classical and cognitive perspectives" carried out at the Pontifical University of Salamanca, "Systematic review of the application of Constraint-Induced Aphasia Therapy (CIAT) in patients with aphasia post-stroke "carried out at the Complutense University of Madrid," Need for speech therapy intervention in Autism Spectrum Disorder "in collaboration with the Autism Federation of Madrid," Efficacy of Constraint-Induced Aphasia Therapy in post-stroke aphasia " presented at the XI International Congress of the Association of Speech Therapists of Spain, and currently, "Development of an intervention program focused on communication and language for people with potential risk of developing Alzheimer's disease" thesis project to be developed in the Complutense University of Madrid within the psychology doctoral program encompassed in the line of Research in Cognitive Neuroscience and Experimental Psychology. His interests are mainly focused on working with the patient, the study of the recovery or maintenance of language and communication in people with various pathologies and its preservation in people with potential risk of developing cognitive impairment or dementia, with the ultimate aim of provide an optimal quality of life for them, allowing them to maintain functional communication for as long as possible.
