Susana Rubio-Valdehita

Professor in the Department of Social, Work and Differential Psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). She started her research career as a research staff training fellow in 1990 in the Department of Methodology of Behavior Sciences at Faculty of Psychology. She received the “Extraordinary Doctorate Award” for her Doctoral Thesis and the “General González del Pino Psychological Research Award” given by the Spanish Ministry of Defense. Her research activity has been focused on the methodology of psychological evaluation, as well as the study of cognitive processes involved in human activity with special emphasis on research on mental workload. The analysis of the psychometric qualities of psychological instruments as well as experimental and applied research of attention and memory processes related to the mental workload, involving activities of several kinds (academic, professional, daily life) and with samples of subjects from both the general population and specific groups (older people, workers, students, etc.), have focused their most outstanding research. She is co-author of more than eighty publications (books and papers) and director of 10 doctoral theses and more than 50 final master's and bachelor's projects. She has participated in 10 competitive research projects and in 25 research contracts financed by public and private entities. She is member of the research group "Cognition, emotion and health" since its establishment in 2008 and regularly collaborates as a scientific reviewer with several national and international journals. She has participated in different university management positions as department secretary (2010-2014) and department director (2014-2017), and since 2013 she collaborates in different expert committees of UCM and ANECA.
